As the steward of the University's endowment lands, USask Properties is taking a thoughtful, long-term approach to community development. Guided by decades of planning, collaboration, and engagement, our goal is to create complete communities that benefit residents, the University, and Saskatoon for generations to come.
A Long-Term Vision
The foundation for this work was established through Vision2057, the University of Saskatchewan's long-range land use plan. Developed with input from the university community and external stakeholders, Vision 2057 provides a framework for managing the University's urban lands while supporting its academic mission and strengthening its relationship with the city.
It recognizes that thoughtful planning can do more than accommodate growth—it can create lasting value for both the University and the broader community.
Stewarding a Unique Asset
The University's urban lands serve different purposes. While Core Lands support teaching, research, student life, and future campus expansion, Endowment Lands provide an opportunity to generate long-term value in support of the University's mission.
These lands are a unique and finite resource. Their development is guided by a long-term stewardship approach that balancesresponsible growth with environmental sustainability, community benefit, and thoughtful design.
Rather than focusing on short-term outcomes, decisions are made with future generations in mind.
Planning Together
Great communities are created through collaboration.
The University's vision has been shaped through ongoing partnership with the City of Saskatoon, the University Sector Plan, and extensive engagement with neighbouring communities, Indigenous partners, students, faculty, staff, and other interest holders.
This collaborative approach helps ensure that new neighbourhoods are well connected, thoughtfully integrated with surrounding communities, and responsive to the needs and aspirations of the people who will live, work, learn, and gather there.

Stadium Square and Sutherland South represent the first chapters in this long-term vision.
